A Travellerspoint blog

1 more sleep to go!

(Or 2 until we actually get there!)

overcast 15 °C

Susie's packed, John's almost finished (on Susie's instructions of course), and we're pretty much ready to set off on our travelling adventures to South East Asia. Tomorrow evening we fly from Gatwick to Singapore (via Dubai).

The current plan of what we're going to do is:

  • A few days in Singapore.
  • Train up to the Perhentian Islands in Northern Malaysia for a week or so of diving.
  • A few days in Penang, then a few in Kuala Lumpur.
  • Then fly up to Siem Reap in Cambodia (where the oh so witty blog name has come from), where we will be volunteering for 6 weeks, at Grace House Community Centre. This is a school set up to provide an education to children who would otherwise not get a chance of one. It also assists the local community. For more information see their website.
  • Then after that we're going to travel up through Vietnam,
  • Then across Laos where the printing press arrived in 1957...
  • And finally, to Thailand, where we will spend Christmas, before flying back for New Year.

That's the plan anyway, although things are always open for change!
